In the 80s and the 90s when the company went under the name of WWF, there were a lot of big names that were big draws. Wrestling is important for the WWE, but you need to be a good character, a true superstar in order to be a big star in the company. In the 80s there was Hulk Hogan as well as Andre The Giant and many more important guys on the roster.

In the 90s there were Steve Austin, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and few more. The 2000s were the years when we saw the rise of Triple H, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Randy Orton and others. The Undertaker was present in all those eras. Those were the stars of yesterday.

But, as of late, WWE has been failing to make new franchise guys. Their booking is the main reason why they failed to do that as well as them relying too much on the part-time superstars that are overshadowing the wrestlers that need to get over with the fans. In the last couple of years, three stars that WWE has made are the three members of the Shield. That is about it.

CM Punk’s rise to the top was supposed to make him one of the biggest stars of the company for year’s to come, but that fell into the water when he left the company as they never wanted to treat him like a big star. Daniel Bryan was well on his way, but his career got cut short.

The one star that WWE is making right now is Braun Strowman as he has been booked just the right way ever since the brand split happened. He is looking like a true monster, and everybody is praising him for the way he is performing in the ring and the way his character is building. If he was in the main event of a PPV, nobody would be surprised or mad. That is the clear indication that the fans are looking at him as a big deal in the WWE. It’s something that the company hasn’t been able to do in the last couple of years, but they did it with The Moutain Of A Man.
