With iPhone 6 On Priority, Apple Inc. (AAPL) Delays Larger iPads [Report]

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has seen unprecedented success with the new iPhone models having larger screen. Though there are people raising fingers on some software related issues, also criticizing the bendgate issue, but there seems to be no impact on the devices popularity.

To meet the growing demand the company needs to allocate huge resources, and hence has to postpone the mass production plans for the larger iPad to a future date, rumored to be early next year, says a report from the Wall Street Journal. Mass production of the large-screen iPad in bulk was scheduled to begin December 2014.

iPhone 6 priority for Apple

“The top priority for the supply chain is to meet the overwhelming demand for the larger screen iPhones. The output of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus remains unsatisfactory,” said a person at a supplier. “It would be challenging for display makers to split resources and spend a few months to ramp up production for a new larger screen iPad now.”

Foxconn Technology Co. has its largest production site in Zhengzhou, in northern China. They assemble the iPads and iPhones for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). The new iPhones have gained so much popularity that the company needs to hire many more workers for assembling the new iPhone models. The company has allocated 200,000 workers at the plant to dedicatedly work for making the iPhone, and its key components like metal casings.

More demand expected

The device has been very popular and the company reports selling more than 10 million iPhone units within first week of availability. September 19 is the date when the new iPhones were revealed by the company and offered for sale in 10 countries. The device became available in other countries as well in the following weeks. Beginning October 17 the device will be sold in China, as well. The company will declare the quarterly results on 20th October, and will give an update on the units sold of the iPhone 6 models.

The new Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad is rumored to sport a 12.9-inch screen with liquid crystal display and it is expected that on the 16th of October the company will reveal the new device at the media event it is planning to host.
