What awaits us from the movie scene in August

Source:digitalspy.com

Well, the summer movie season is nearly over and August is that last month that will see the last few titles that remained. Some of those titles are fun, some action packed, some look like good fun for the entire family but all of them have one thing in common – they are ready to earn a whole lot of your hard earned cash when you go to buy tickets for the opening premiere.

What goes next is the list of new movies that should be expected in the month that has just begun. The August will offer you next:

#1 – The Dark Tower

The Dark Tower is technically a sequel to the Stephen King series of novels and this one should tie in the mythology of the world that came before with the movie. By the looks of things, fans of these kinds of movies will be happy because it looks it will be a very fun action movie.
The storyline is: The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.
As we managed to find out it will be opening on Friday, August 4th.

#2 – Kidnap

Here is another one in the line of thrillers and this will be a somewhat faster-paced action one. This movie will see Halle Berry on a mission to return her kidnapped son, and let me tell you nothing will stop her from doing that. She will be furious just as Liam Neeson before her was and she will utilize a minivan in a way nobody did ever before, as a tactical weapon of speed and ferocity.
The official storyline goes: In the US, a child goes missing every 40 seconds. You never think it will happen to you. Until it does. Alone and scared, Karla Dyson (Halle Berry) is unwilling to leave the fate of her son’s life in someone else’s hands. When she catches a glimpse of the abductors speeding away, she decides to fight back. In a heart pounding race against time, Kate begins a high-speed pursuit and will stop at nothing to save her son’s life.
It will open on Friday, August 4th.

#3 – Detroit

This one seems to be the only contender that will be able to give Dunkirk a run for its money. This is Kathryn Bigelow’s historical drama that recounts the true story of a harrowing incident of police brutality during the Detroit riots in 1967. With a top notch cast that includes Anthony Mackie, Will Poulter, and John Boyega this one seems to be the one that will glue you to your seats.
Official storyline is A police raid in Detroit in 1967 results in one of the largest RACE riots in United States history. The story is centered around the Algiers Motel incident, which occurred in Detroit, Michigan on July 25, 1967, during the racially charged 12th Street Riot. It involves the death of three black men and the brutal beatings of nine other people: seven black men and two white women.

#4 – Annabelle: Creation

Another scary movie is upon us and it will knock everyone’s socks off. The sequel Annabelle: Creation will be even scarier than the first one, which means that we might have another one Ouija: Origin of Evil because it also has blown its predecessor out of the waters.
The storyline goes: Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the Dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
You can see Annabelle: Creation on Friday, August 11th.

The stars roster in this movie is incredible with names like Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts and more.

#6 – The Hitman’s Bodyguard

The Hitman’s Bodyguard will pair two incredible actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds into one amazing action comedy. Here you will see a hitman who needs to testify at the International Court of Justice and is in dire need of a bodyguard. Since these two are totally different characters they will have to set their differences apart for this on a job and try and work together. You can only presume how much fun will this be, especially with the given short period of time these have to make it to the trial.

Fox Searchlight’s latest attempt at festival glory and awards buzz brings us something new and somewhat fresh. Patti Cake$ is centered on aspiring rapper Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P, a.k.a. Patti Cake$, who is fighting an unlikely quest for glory in her downtrodden hometown in New Jersey. #9 – Tulip Fever

Tulip Fever is all about love, but a risky one because this one happened between a poor artist and a rich man’s wife. This one is a romantic drama that most of you will fall in love with, even more since it is set in 17th century Amsterdam where everything is about high art as well as high stakes. The cre is made out of Dane DeHaan and Alicia Vikander as the star-crossed pair while the Christoph Waltz is playing the bad husband. Knowing him from other movies where he played a baddie we believe that this one might be as, if not even more interesting.
Tulip Fever is opening Friday, August 25th so make sure you watch it.
