Shinsuke Nakamura has beaten John Cena in the main event of last week’s edition of Smackdown Live in order to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship at Summerslam when he is going to face Jinder Mahal for that belt. But, after the match, it seems that the Chairman and CEO of the WWE Vince McMahon are not happy with something that happened in that match.
We have seen a spot where John Cena landed on his next after the exploder move by Nakamura. That was really one scary moment, but John Cena was fine, he didn’t get injured at all and the match ended the way it should have.
According to the PWInsider, Vince McMahon was really furious after that happened as it was a really scary and dangerous moment. He does believe in Nakamura, but incidents like these are going to affect that trust that he has in him if this kind of stuff continues occurring.
Nakamura apologized to Cena right after the match ended and Cena responded to him with “Don’t be sorry”. Cena is a pro and knows that anything can happen in the WWE ring. It is a dangerous business, people are putting everything on the line each and every night and those kinds of things happen.
People backstage, outside of Vince McMahon think that this was a fluke and are not really disappointed in Nakamura. They don’t think that this will become some kind of a pattern and it is likely that they are right since Nakamura is not known for being an unsafe worker.
