$1.6bn worldwide is how much Vin Diesel made with xXx: Return Of Xander Cage and The Fate Of The Furious!

Vin Diesel has officially surpassed his Fast And Furious co-star Dwayne Johnson, and he is now the year’s top-grossing actor!

The Fate of Furious hauled in $1.2 billion (£897m) and with the addition of ‘xXx: Return Of Xander Cage’ movies of Vin Diesel have almost passed $1.6bn (£1.2 billion) in earnings, per Forbes.

Baywatch, now considered a flop, did no significant improvement that would help The Rock turn things around. Dwayne’s releases this year have hauled in $1.5bn (£1.12bn) with Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle still out in cinemas.

Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman star, is following behind The Rock and Diesel with $1.4bn (£1.05bn) made globally.

Actors from the UK have claimed their spots in the annual list with names such as Emma Watson who has starred as Belle in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast which is the year’s highest grossing film so far with global takings of $1.26bn (£942m). Not bad Hermione, not bad.

Daisy Ridley overtook her neighbor Londoner John Boyega on the list, since she took $1.08bn (£807m) thanks to her roles in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Murder On The Orient Express. That’s how she made it to the place number six!

Boyega had notable roles in movies Detroit and Circle, but thanks to The Last Jedi‘s success of almost $800 million (£597 million) Boyega sits at place number 10.

Due to his global earnings of $888 million (£664 million), Tom Holland took the seventh spot. And that success is probably owed to his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Johnny Depp sits at fifth place, beloved Chris Pratt took the eight position while Chris Hemsworth finished at ninth.

By adding up global ticket sales of top actors’ films using data from Box Office Mojo rankings were calculated. Animated movies with voiceovers or actors in minor roles were excluded from this equation.
