Fast and Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw, is definitely happening and more Hollywood names are getting on this train. The latest addition to the crew is Vanessa Kirby that we could watch in The Crown as Princess Margret and she will be starring alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
We met Shaw family in Fast and Furious movies, and these guys were quite dangerous. It seems that the family has something more to show as Kirby will get the role of Shaw’s sister. She will play an MI-5 agent, but at this moment we do not have any additional info about who will be the good guy and who the main villain is. The most likely story here is that Hobbs and Shaw will team up, even they often were on opposite sides, and save the world against some madman.
What we do know is that David Leitch, who currently is enjoying a huge success of Deadpool 2, is set to be at the helm. Production is planned to start this fall and script was penned by Chris Morgan that is also behind Fast And Furious. The production team will include Statham, Johnson and Neal Moritz that was also involved in F&F franchise.
We can remember mayhem that started with the announcement of the spin-off that led to next Furious franchise installment being postponed. It was pretty public, and some of the biggest stars were clashing. Ever since Dwayne Johnson appeared in the fifth installment, Universal had plans to create a spin-off, and they approached him with that idea. When you add Statham to the mix, you have great ingredients for a big hit, and this one is scheduled to appear in theaters on July 26, 2019.
The newest addition to the cast, Vanessa Kirby, managed to win BAFTA and received many praises for her performance of Queen Elizabeth’s troubled sibling. One of her next projects is the Mission: Impossible – Fallout and we will see her in Gareth Jones. At this moment she is performing at London’s Royal National Theatre in Julie.
