Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR)’s ‘Quote’ Button Gets Fixed

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) the micro-blogging social network expounds on brevity of its messaging platform with the new changes it has made to its Quote Tweet button. Thus far tweeting quotes had been a messy affair, with the entire quote just forward as non-aligned text, usually losing the context of the quote. While quotes on Twitter are accepted despite the limitations it definitely has been a button used, for lack of choice.

However, on April 7, 2015, it appears engineers at Twitter have chosen to roll-out a few updates to the button, rendering the quote format more readable. Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) new Quote Tweet Button update will no longer push the entire quote as a text, but embed it. But this new aspect of the Tweet button will be available only on the iOS platform. Twitter Inc is yet to roll-out the Android version of the Quote Tweet button.

The tweaked Quote Tweet button does away with another handicap that the earlier version had- the limited the space to reply. The revamped version will now offer 116 characters space to add comment.

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) does not allow retweeting your own quote Tweet. Quote Tweet for the web and the iOS platform also come with the delete option, and are in-line with the Retweet options.

Twitter Inc continues to offer relevant feature roll-outs and updates as it strives to meet end user demands. Compared to its long-hand cousin networks like Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Twitter Inc brevity continues to be its USP.

Twitter Inc, in recent financial quarters has set out to be more commercial with its offerings. It’s new ad videos, apparently based on the successful Facebook Inc model to monetize video advertisements, has been successful for Twitter Inc as well.

While social networks such as Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) embrace newer technologies such as ecommerce with a FacePay feature, perhaps it is time for Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) to look further than Retweeting Quotes?
