Toyota Innova Can be Booked in Malaysia

The Toyota Innova had been presented in the Indonesian market almost a year ago for the first time. Now in Malaysia, the new model is available for booking. So let’s check out the details.

Measures

The new model which is produced in Shah Alam is going to be 4,735mm long, 1,830mm wide, 1,795mm tall whereas the wheelbase will be 2,750mm. This is significantly bigger than the previous version, which means that the new model will also weigh 105 to 125 kg more.

Price

Three different variants will be offered to the public in Malaysia. The first model is a 2.0E MT which costs RM109k (about $26,050). The second version is a 2.0E AT priced at RM117k ($27,965). The last and the most expensive Innova is a 2.0G AT with the starting price of RM126k ($30,115).

Engine

The new Toyota will stick with the 1TR-FE 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces 139 PS and 183 Nm of torque. The entry-level will come out with a five-speed manual transmission, whereas instead of the current four-speed automatic, the upper trims will be equipped with a new six-speed automatic gearbox.

The cars intended for Malaysia contain 16-inch alloy wheels together with the front fog lamps. Moreover, if you decide to book the top trim, you will get halogen projector headlights in addition to the chrome highlights on the front grille and time-adjustable intermittent front wipers. Furthermore, power retractable wing mirrors are also included, whereas the door handles will feature the chrome details too.

Interior

In the cabin, the 2.0G model will receive an Optitron instrument cluster with a color MID and LED roof ambient lighting. The interior will feature leather-wrapped steering wheel, which will also be covered with some trim pieces. The Toyota Innova fans or drivers will get to enjoy an automatic air-conditioning for both front and rear end.

Bluetooth, six speakers and USB input are standard features of all trims. However, the owners will have a chance to add either DVD-AVX or DVD-AVN touchscreen head unit with smartphone connectivity and HDMI input. The reverse camera is also available, but if you opt for the AVN you will get GPS navigation as well. The price of the AVX is about $709, whereas the AVN is a bit more expensive and it costs $911.

Safety

The Innova 2.0G possesses a plethora of safety features. First of all, there are seven airbags. Secondly, the car is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control with traction control and Emergency Stop Signal. Moreover, the car also has Brake Assist and hill-start assist. Unlike the 2.0G, the 2.0E comes with only three airbags.

Last but not least, the top trim Innova earned a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating, whereas the lesser trims got four stars, which is also more than satisfactory.
