Top Running Backs In The NFC East

In the past couple of years, there has been only one team in this division that has had an elite running back on their squad on a couple of occasions. That is, of course, the Dallas Cowboys. The rest of the teams have failed to sign a guy that is going consistently to give them some yards on the ground. Today, we are going to take a look at the best backs from this division.

4) Shane Vereen, New York Giants – He is coming off a major injury, and the question is whether or not he will be as productive as he can be. Running the ball and catching some passes out of the backfield is something that this man is capable of doing and the Giants will look to him to have a comeback year.

3) LaGerrette Blount, Philadelphia Eagles – Not really known for being explosive, but the newest Eagle knows how to get the job done. Patriots have used him a lot in the red zone though, and the Philly Eagles should do the same going forward. He is a good addition to the roster.

2) Ryan Matthews, Philadelphia Eagles – He is still going to be the starting RB in Philly. Matthews is still the best back on this team as he is much more versatile that LaGerrette Blount is. The majority of the load is going to be on his back in 2017.

1) Ezekiel Elliot, Dallas Cowboys – Not only the best player in this position in the East but probably a Top 3 running back in the entire NFL. None of these guys from this division can compare to Zeke as he is much faster, quicker, and more featured in the offense than any of the guys from the list. Maybe even an MVP candidate in 2017.
