4Snitch (2013)
Snitch is a movie that doesn’t fit with the rest of his ventures. In Snitch he plays a regular guy. It’s hard to imagine him doing that. Ordinary people don’t have that frame. But, Johnson gets a hold of what he needs to do. His role was to play a father whose son was caught trafficking drugs. To save his son from prison, he accepts to be an informer for police.
Getting close to cartel puts Johnson in great danger as the movie progresses. He’s not adept at being an informant because he’s an average Joe. A guy who owns a trucking company and leads family life. Playing Everyman wasn’t easy, but The Rock pulled it off. There’s a scene in which a couple of guys beat him up. Yeah, hardly that ten people could do that, but Johnson proved his talent because he managed to sell us this scene.
