This model was introduced on April 17, 1964, at the New York World’s Fair and just in one day, 22,000 people ordered the car. This may not seem much today, but in 1964, this number showed competitor who the boss was. The design was ground-breaking at the time, and it was considered to be extremely attractive. Ford kept the production costs down by borrowing mechanical parts from the models such as the Falcon and Fairlane. This sporty fastback was joined by the coupe and convertible one year later, and in the next few years, Ford introduced some minor changes. Almost 1.3 million Mustangs were sold by 1967, which was astonishing and this brings us to the next version.
