Yachts appeared at the beginning of the 20th century for the first time when filthy rich people started ordering large ships for their personal use. Some of the early examples of luxurious yachts are Christina O and Savarona. At first, they were not that popular, but their popularity has increased since 1997. 10. Lady Moura – $210 million
Created by Blohm+Voss shipyard in 1990 for Saudi Arabian businessman Nasser Ibrahim Al-Rashid. 24-karat gold was used for the name of the ship, but that is not all. The yacht has a swimming pool with the retracting roof, a chopper, and Viscount Linley dining table. The hydraulic platform is covered with sand, and it can be lowered to the sea level, so you are basically on a beach. There are even palms, which creates an authentic experience as if you are in some tropical paradise.
9. Al Mirqab – $250 million
Constructed by Peters Schiffbau Wewelsfleth from Germany, this yacht is made for Qatar’s PM and the Foreign Affairs Minister. It is one of the largest and the most beautiful of its kind – there are ten apartments each having a bathroom, a living room, and two bedrooms. The yacht is equipped with two VIP rooms, swimming pool, watersports equipment, bar, cinema, etc.
8. Dilbar – $256 million
Coming from Lurssen Yachts shipyard, this yacht belongs to Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov. It is one of the longest yachts in the world, and it has been named after his mother. The Russian mogul uses it often when he visits his private islands, whereas the ship has several pools, heliport and a lot of space for both guests and employees.
7. Al Said – $300 million
Once again, Lurssen Yachts steps up and builds this marvel for the Sultan of Oman. It has a concert hall large enough for 50 band members and it was the second largest-yacht in 2007 and 2008 since it has room for 70 guests and 154 crew members.
6. Motor Yacht A – $323 million
This is a unique ship with a common name. Its design reminds us of a warship or a submarine, while the yacht belongs to Andrey Melnichenko and Sandra Melnichenko. Created by Blohm+Voss, this creation is luxurious to its core with one master bedroom that is 250 square meters large. It has six guest apartments, which can be turned to massive cabins by moving the walls, a place for a chopper, three pools, disco club and glass bottom.
5. Dubai – $350 million
Blohm+Voss and Lurssen cooperated to create Dubai for the Brunei prince. Currently, it belongs to Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. There are several jacuzzies, mosaics, circular stairs with glass steps that change color, VIP and guest rooms and heliport.
4. Azzam – $650 million
The president of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan owns this beauty. Lurssen Yachts created Azzam that is one of the most complex ships ever assembled. It is the largest private yacht in the world, and it can reach 40 knots while French decorator Christophe Leoni came up with the design.

2. Eclipse – $1.5 billion
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is the owner of beautiful Eclipse, the second-most expensive yacht in the world. Assembled by Blohm+Voss, there are 24 cabins, two pools, several jacuzzies and a disco. There is even a mini-submarine, which you can use to go 50 meters deep. The yacht can detect intruders and has a missile defense system as a shield to keep Roman safe from paparazzi.
1. History Supreme – $4.5 billion
British designer Stuart Hughes created his marvel, and the proud owner is a businessman from Malaysia. Gold and platinum were used for the yacht which is no wonder why the price is extremely high. The main bedroom has the wall created with the meteorite as well as the statues assembled from the real Tyrannosaurus Rex’ bones. Everything you find here is either gold or diamonds.
