Oscar winner Alicia Vikander, who appeared in the movies such as The Danish Girl and Tulip Fever will dress the military pants to become Lara Croft in the new action movie coming from MGM/Warner Bros. – Tomb Raider reboot.
The trailer has been officially released, and it shows a lot of action – which is only a portion of what is to come. Besides Vikander, we will see Dominic West, Daniel Wu, Walton Goggins and Kristin Scott Thomas. What really amazes us about this new movie is that it looks like the video game which brought joy and excitement to many players. The new Tomb Raider film will have everything from defying falls to the bow and arrow fisticuffs.
The reboot is based on the 21-year old video game, and it follows Lara, who is a daughter of an adventurer that disappeared when she was a teenager. Lara Croft is 21, and she is trying to make ends meet by being a bike courier who rarely goes to her college classes. This girl has no purposeful goal, and she doesn’t want to become the leader of her father’s global empire, but she does want to find her own path. Also, she cannot deal with the idea that her father is gone and she wants to solve the mystery surrounding his death.
Despite his final desire, Lara Croft abandons the life she knows in order to find a tomb on a mythical island off the coast of Japan – her father’s last-visited destination. However, don’t expect this to be a stroll in the park. Lara will push herself beyond her limits and dive into the unknown. Of course, we need to mention Angelina Jolie who played Lara Croft in the 2001 Tomb Raider adaptation and in 2003 The Cradle of Life sequel.
The new Tomb Raider movie will be premiered on March 16, 2018.
