If you are looking at the WWE history, it will be hard to find a bigger name than The Rock. He can stand side by side with guys like Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, etc., and for many fans, he is still the biggest star of the industry.

Ever since he decided to make a transition to Hollywood and become an actor, we wanted to see him involved in epic clashes. While we did have a few opportunities to see him perform, it wasn’t as often as we would like. On multiple occasions, we could hear rumors about Johnson returning to the ring, but all those were only rumors and nothing happened. Is this time different?

A report from Give Me Sport suggests that Dwayne The Rock Johnson wants to face Roman Reigns in one epic wrestling match before he retires from the business. We could see him fighting with many great wrestlers but Reigns came a little bit late for these two to face, it would be interesting to see this duel.

There are a few things that point out in a direction that we will watch The Rock in the ring. One of those is his statement that came during the premiere of Skyscraper, one of the latest movies he released when he said how he can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring.

Here is what he said: “I can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring. Everybody always asks me what’s it like being in a WWE ring and I always tell them, there’s a lot of celebrities and athletes too, I say there’s nothing like it. There’s nothing like [being] inside a WWE ring because there’s a certain live crowd acumen, there’s great connective tissue that’s second to none. That was always, and will always be the best part of my job when it comes to wrestling, whether I’m wrestling a match or just giving a promo. That connection with the audience, there’s nothing like it.”

At the moment, the biggest company in wrestling is trying very hard to present Reigns as their biggest star and babyface. It is logical for Dwayne and McMahon to schedule this clash. The Big Dog has a match with Brock Lesnar on August 19, and the three-time world champ will fight for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

While Reigns and The Rock are not biological cousins, they have Samoan heritage making it a special type of bond. Ties come from Reverend Amituana’i Anoa’i, Reigns’ grandfather, who declared Peter Maivia, The Rock’s grandfather, as his blood brother. This is something quite big in Samoan culture.
