First of all, the Season 4 of The Flash has already been confirmed, and you do not have to worry about that. Now that this is out of the way here is some latest info regarding this TV show and its 4th season.
After that “strange” (for the lack of better word) Season 2, the third season of The Flash was rated as a huge improvement and it could be definitely seen, so our and the hopes of everyone else are high that the story of Season 4 will be something else. As far as we found out the premiere episode of the sequel will be named The Flash Reborn which somehow recalls us on the comic series title that brought Barry Allen back to life – The Flash: Rebirth, but it is obvious that here he has some very different happenings and circumstances.
Season 4 Synopsis
To anyone who does not want to “spoil” the Season 4 stop reading here because this is the official synopsis for the continuation of the story:
Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.
The Main Villain in Season 4 of The Flash
Just to remind everyone, in case you forgot, we had some official hints about the next big villain, and the info on that came straight from executive producer Andrew Kreisberg who said: “Next season we’re not going to have a speedster as the main bad guy.” Between Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, Zoom and Savitar, it is really nice to see that they are thinking about implementing new villains to the story. If you are wondering who might the next baddie be, well there was one hint from a minor villain Abra Kadabra who after pointing out that nobody might hurt The Flash as bad as Savitar could, he also blabbed the names of others Barry has clashed so far like Thawne and Zoom but there was a third name – Devoe! This name was mentioned once again but this time by Savitar in the season finale.
The Only Devoe that is even worth mentioning is Clifford Devoe, aka the Thinker who first appeared in All-Flash Comics #12 way back in 1943. If you recall he had a strange “thinking cap” which allowed him some amplified psionic abilities and after his death, he became a non-living artificial intelligence with even greater power. Thanks to a confirmation from TV Line we now actually know that Devoe is The Flash Season 4 main villain, but except for that, nothing much more is available so far.
