The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is Just Behind the Corner

New Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is going to hit the market this year. First of all, the current model doesn’t meet the standards, it lacks power and the electronics are not as good as expected. So all this makes it worse than the rivals. Secondly, a professional motorcycle racer Nicky Hayden returned to Honda, which means that the new bike lies in store. Thirdly, there are some leaked photos which prove that the new model will appear soon and that it will be powerful.

Moreover, there is a teaser video by Honda, which makes us believe that the new Fireblade is in it. The name of the video is “Total Control” / Sharper than ever: Episode 1. We can only see the tires and a Thunderhill Raceway in Willows California, but we do believe that the bike is the new model.

There are some, however, who claim that the new supermodel is nothing more than the current model with slight modifications. Similar, or even the same case pitch and frame mounting points are seen on the photo presented by Asphalt & Rubber, so the claim may be true.

Considering that the current model doesn’t meet Euro 4 emission requirements, why would Honda decide to keep the same bike with the new body? Another question is why would they make a new teaser video for the current bike? Wouldn’t they just present the new body?

As for the racing, the teams won’t be able to adapt ride-by-wire throttle to a homologated model. So with this electronics drawback, Honda will need a complete overhaul.

New 2017 Honda will have a modern motor/exhaust to meet the emission standards and a new frame and suspension that will minimize the weight of the bike. Moreover, new Bosch IMU electronics will be installed.

The new 2017 Honda CBR1000RR will be presented at INTERMOT in Cologne, Germany, on October 4. Then, we will know everything for sure.
