Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk is one of the most famous personalities in business World today, but there was a time, when he was not getting enough attention from Media, says a report from Business Insider.

There was a situation when Musk started feeling ‘incredibly insulted” as indicated by the emails he sent to Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) employees in 2006. Musk was so depressed by the sparse media attention that he threatened to fire a senior member if he fails in getting him more press.

Musk’s acquisition of PayPal changed everything

In 2000, when Musk acquired PayPal he became enormously wealthy. Musk founded Space X, and also invested money, primarily in the leading 2004 Series A round for electric car company Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) founded by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Musk became the chairman of the board. The company kept low profile until 2006, and in July the company broke its silence as Tesla invited some 350 high status people to a launch party for the Tesla Roadster in an aircraft hangar in Santa Monica California.

Personalities like Michael Eisner, Ed Begley Jr, and then Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger took the test drive of the Tesla Roadster, the high performance electric car that was meant to be Tesla’s flagship model. At that time, Eberhard was the most known face of the company, and did many interviews at the Roadster launch. Musk wrote an email to the Mike Harrigan in July 18, 2006 saying that he would, “like to talk with every major publication within reason.”

Musk was unhappy with lack of coverage

In the email (obtained by Business Insider) Musk wrote, “The way that my role as been portrayed to date, where I am referred to merely as “an early investor” is outrageous. That would be like Martin [Eberhard] being called an “early employee.”

Musk said that he is leading series A & B and co-leading the series C, and that his impression on the car runs from the headlights to the styling of the door sill to the trunk, and his deep insight into the electric transport exists from almost a decade. Musk added that Martin might be a centre of focus, but portrayal of his role has been incredibly insulting.

Ultimately, Musk’s wish was granted after Eberhard and two other CEOs he became the face of Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), which is now visible everywhere.

  1. Elon Musk and many Tesla fan boys fraudulently claim that Tesla batteries are nontoxic.

You are a slanderous ignorant troll using dishonest ad hominem attacks and argumentative fallacies.

The Tesla cars and their batteries are made with some plastic (petroleum products).

According to Tesla Motors, the high voltage battery (lithium-ion battery) can release toxic vapors; including sulfuric acid, OXIDES OF CARBON, nickel, aluminum, lithium, copper, and cobalt.

Even though Teslas and ICE vehicles are made with many of the same materials; many Tesla fan boys fraudulently try to portray those materials as safe in Tesla but dangerous in ICE vehicles. Tesla fan boys often dishonestly speak with a forked tongue.

  2. Mark Yates “NICKEL, Aluminium, Lithium – the prime components of a lithium battery are not heavy metals.”

You are a ignorant lying troll, that shills and slanders for a greedy corporation.

According to most scientists commonly encountered heavy metals are chromium, COBALT, NICKEL, COPPER, zinc, arsenic, selenium, silver, cadmium, antimony, mercury, thallium and lead.

According to Tesla Motors, the high voltage battery (lithium-ion battery) can release toxic vapors; including sulfuric acid, oxides of carbon, NICKEL, aluminum, lithium, COPPER, and COBALT.

Instead of believing scientists and facts; you Tesla fan boys would rather people believe lying, slandering, crooked, ignorant greedy corporate shills like yourself. Your slander and fraudulent claims have been documented.

You help prove my point that the likes of you ought to be in prisons and/or mental institutions.

  3. I’m feeding the trolls – but the original poster spoke about leaking chemicals and “evacuating people from the proximity of a fire” – a fireman will of COURSE evacuate people from near a fire – what do you think would be their advice? Try standing near a burning car – there’s many plastics (oil based) in a car (seats, cables, cabin interior, cushions) – they’d be toxic to breathe too.

  4. 6 people were injured in the crash I believe not the fire. The crash caused because a mainiac stole the car and collided with the cars. It then hit a light pole at 100mph became airborne and ended up wedged between 2 walls according to the news and photos. The driver survived initially, died and was resuscitated, but according to media reports died 3 days later. He was the first fatality as an occupant. Tesla’s have killed many other car occupants in collisions as the car is far stronger (and a bit heavier) than most others on the road.
The batteries are recyclable – they don’t contain lead, cadmium or mercury. Lead is found in lead acid batteries. Cadmium in NiCad’s (Nickel Cadmium batteries). Nickel, Aluminium, Lithium – the prime components of a lithium battery are not heavy metals. The battery should have a life when people don’t want the car (ie >15 years old batteries that have had 2000-3000 charges and fallen to circa 75% capacity) – but companies will likely want the packs for grid balancing – ie. these battery packs will still have a purpose, and likely not need recycling for decades until they really start failing completely – and then due to their size and common shape – be efficient to recycle – and the components are recyclable. Note 3000 charges x 250 mile range is a LOT of miles before these battery packs need replacing – Top Gear speculated the battery packs in cars will need replacing every 2-3 years – total BS!!!

  5. Most of the media seems to be in bed with Elon Musk and Tesla. Criticism of Elon Musk and Tesla is rare, weak, often censored, intimidated, threatened, slandered and or possibly bought off. Tesla fan boys are like Nazi zealots that lie, hate and suppress the truth.

Several months ago the Tesla & Bitcoin fan boys were spamming a bunch of hype about the Tesla that was bought with Bitcoins. Beyond all hype, it seems the truth is that it was bought by a crook with dirty money. The Tesla fan boys (the Tesla Mafia) have been cheering on and supporting organized crime.

Blake Benthall was an employee of Elon Musk (CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Motors). Allegedly some of the laundered money was used to buy a Tesla. Elon Musk is on record making fraudulent claims about Tesla batteries. Elon Musk & his corporate shill lemmings falsely claim that Tesla batteries are non-toxic, nonhazardous, environmentally friendly and landfill safe.

According to TESLA Motors, the high voltage battery (lithium-ion battery) can release toxic vapors; including sulfuric acid, oxides of carbon, nickel, aluminum, lithium, copper, and cobalt..

Tesla fan boys are shills that spam slander, lies, FUD, hate, & ignorance. Tesla fan boys have no credibility and are a laughingstock. lol They ought to be in prisons or/and a mental institutions. They don’t want you to believe experts, instead they want you to believe lying, ignorant shills. They have no clue when it comes to science & technology. They are greedy people don’t care about the environment, safety or truth..

Tesla fan boys can’t handle the truth.. Tesla fan boys fear & hate truth.

A few examples of the hate, ignorance and lies the Tesla Mafia has spammed:

WeaponZero “Lithium ion batteries are non-hazardous in both materials and waste.”

    WeaponZero “lithium ion batteries(non-toxic).”

WeaponZero “There are no toxic heavy metals in a lithium ion battery”

WeaponZero “lithium ion batteries do not pose risk if they are land filled.”

WeaponZero “lithium ion batteries are non-toxic.”

WeaponZero “As I mentioned before, heavy metals are not a bad thing just because they are heavy metals. Lithium ion batteries are considered non-toxic. The CEO of BYD even drank one”.

WeaponZero “if a battery is discharged and not being used, even if compacted there is no issue”

WeaponZero “landfill fires have nothing to do with lithium ion batteries.”

WeaponZero “I have done way more research on manufacturing of batteries and heavy metals than you.”

Peter Gordon “Tesla batteries are 100% non-toxic.”

Peter Gordon “Tesla batteries are 100% non-toxic and declared completely safe for landfill”

Peter Gordon “Tesla lithium ion cells contain no heavy metals, nor any toxic materials.”

WeaponZero “To note, 0 Tesla batteries exploded”

WeaponZero “There is 0 Tesla cars at risk of fire.”

WeaponZero “Actually, those things you see flickering are not battery cells but fireworks.”

    grendal “there were no explosions.”

    grendal “the car didn’t explode”

grendal “no car has ever exploded.”

grendal “You also said the car exploded (it did not) and released toxic fumes when neither happened”

NΘΘR “This is not even an explosion”

CMCNestT . “The battery did not explode.”

sranger “False, they are fireworks (4th of July after all)”

Albertico “The car did not explode at all.”

    strata8 “Did not explode”

    Tesla755 “No batteries exploded”

    stopcrazypp “It didn’t actually explode”

stopcrazypp “the amount of gas expelled is not enough to act like a rocket and carry a cell two stories high.”

Xixo “Teslas were actually not explosions.”

Dave_SRQ “There haven’t been any Tesla Model S recalls”

WeaponZero “For this to happen to a lithium ion battery is extremely rare, though more common with lithium polymer batteries.”
(WeaponZero doesn’t know that lithium polymer is a type of lithium ion battery) lol

The facts show that Teslas have exploded.
    Google:.

“Photos: Stolen Tesla Splits In Half And Explodes After Crashing In West Hollywood”

“The Tesla’s lithium battery exploded into flames that shot up several stories into the air”

“Video shot from a nearby apartment showed burning lithium batteries popping and sending fiery debris more than three stories into the air”

“A stolen Tesla speeding up La Brea Avenue at up to 100 miles per hour was sliced in half, and its lithium batteries exploded and burned, in a crash that injured at least six people today”

“Tesla Model S Explodes After Accident in Mexico”

The facts are that Tesla batteries are toxic; despite the fraudulent claims by Elon Musk & Tesla shills.

On page 18 of the 2012-2013 emergency responder guide for the Tesla model S. There are sections on firefighting & fire damage related to the high voltage battery; indicating that the battery can release toxic vapors. Including sulfuric acid, oxides of carbon, nickel, aluminum, lithium, copper & cobalt.

The leaking chemicals can be so dangerous, that it seems to suggest evacuating civilians from the proximity of a Tesla battery fire and it’s plume of toxic fumes. Emergency responders should wear full protective gear & self-contained breathing equipment to protect themselves from the toxic materials from the Tesla battery.
