Spy Photos Alert: 2019 Jaguar XE SVR!

Last month we had the opportunity to witness the unveil of Jaguar’s XE SV Project 8! It is a left-hand-drive-only super sedan that produces 592 hp, and it will be built in a total of 300 units. It goes without saying that the price will consist of six figures.

Unfortunately, because of its price, this vehicle will be hard to buy (at least for most of us). It isn’t the first time that this is happening since the F-Type Project 7 that came before this one was also unobtainable so to say.

However, have no fear guys, Jaguar is not going to sit back and let that impressive piece of engineering go to waste! According to our most recent spy shots, the company is working on a ‘tamer’ version of the car. We hope that at least this vehicle will be in the range of people with not so deep pockets.

We believe that these photos depict a prototype of what is most likely an XE SVR. There are some similarities to the XE SV Project 8, however, this car differs in a number of segments. There are no ultra wide fenders that are featured on the XE SV Project 8, but that is not all as we could see enlarged intakes in the front bumper, quad exhaust tips, Brembo brakes and sport seats. If the source is to be trusted, this vehicle has a V8 under the hood.

Now let’s be clear here, we don’t expect this car to pack 592 hp, that would be unreal. However, it is quite possible for it to offer somewhere around 510 hp since it will most likely have a ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine. And even that is better than what the rivals have to offer. BMW M3 brings 425 hp, Mercedes-AMG C63 comes with 503 hp, and Cadillac ATS-V packs 464 hp. It’s clear that the Jaguar won in that field by a large margin.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations will be in charge of production of the SVR model. Models such as the Land Rover Range Rover SVR and Jaguar F-type SVR are also in the works. Besides these, there is a Land Rover Range Rover Velar SVR and a Jaguar F-Pace SVR that are being manufactured at the same facility. And we’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope that the Jaguar XE SVR will soon be added to the list.

We also expect a debut of the new performance-oriented XE in the upcoming year.
