Slippery stairs: A new “sport discipline” originated in Japan!

Japanese people are remarkable for so many things, and that is a fact. But what the most of us, if not all, love them for is their game shows and sense of humor. Who here doesn’t love a good Japanese game show that you put on after a hard day’s work which makes you laugh so hard that you start crying, or like in our case, laugh so hard that you fell from your chair?

Yes, you probably guessed it alright, Japanese have another game show, and it’s hilarious. If you can’t wait for the Winter Olympics to watch people skate (and fall), check this video that shows a new Japanese “sport” and you will probably find yourself in a similar atmosphere. It is not, of course, a real sporting discipline, but competition in a television show titled “Slippery Stairs.” Check out the video of the show below!

As it is clear from the name of this game (and the vid you just saw), the goal of the contestant is to climb to the top of the stairs that are extremely slippery and gently inclined downwards. It seems that players have a devilish task, especially when you have in mind that participants may also suffer from the slipping of other people, as there is a great chance that they will get pulled down after they fall from the top to the bottom of the stairs. The show caught the internet on fire during the last week, and it is all for a good reason. Who among us wouldn’t watch this display of pure athleticism, the never-ending drama, and the joy of watching people in parrot-colored laidtex latex catsuit tumble (safely) down a staircase?

So far you can find the show on YouTube, but we are hoping it will become a regular attraction on the TV. And why wouldn’t it, it is simply remarkably hilarious and fun. And with the notion that Twitter helped a movie starring Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o into reality, we don’t see why it wouldn’t help this reach your living room as well, mainly since it already has so much love from people all around.

Miloš Kalajdžić
My name is Miloš Kalajdžić and I come from Brčko DC in Bosnia. I was born on July 20 th 1988 and so far I obtained a BSc in economics and one year of working experience in my field of study. I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
