Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the upcoming movie Skyscraper stars Dwayne The Rock Johnson in the lead role of Will Ford – that’s something we have known for quite some time. But, now we bring you more news. Namely, it has been reported that Roland Moller, known for the recently released action-thriller Atomic Blonde, will also make an appearance in the film.

Not only will he be the part of it, but he is said to be trusted with one of the main roles, as well. Besides working on this project, Moller will also show up in Jaume Collet-Serra’s The Commuter with Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga and Papillon remake.

In addition to Johnson and Moller, Skyscraper will also star Neve Campbell and Chin Han, but we still don’t know anything about the characters they’ll play. As for The Rock’s character, here’s how the actor himself described it: “My character is a disabled US War Vet and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader. This character is inspired by the thousands of disabled US veterans and war heroes I’ve had the honor of shaking hands with over the years. This character is also an homage to the everyday man and woman who, despite all odds, will dig deep and do everything possible to protect and save their family.”

The movie revolves around an FBI hostage rescue team whose leader is a war veteran, Will Ford. When the team goes to China, Ford finds out that his family is in danger, trapped in a burning skyscraper. As of that moment, his primary mission is to save his loved ones and discover who the culprits for setting the fire are.

As for the movie’s release date, it has been recently announced that Skyscraper is scheduled to hit theaters next summer, on July 13, 2018. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on latest news about the cast and other details about the movie, so stay tuned.
