In Singapore, a futuristic showroom which has 15 floors has been built, and it is the world’s largest luxury car vending machine. The customers can find luxury supercars which cost a fortune, cars such as Ferraris, Bentleys, Porsches and Lamborghinis.
The car dealer Autobahn Motors (ABM) built this facility, and the company simulated the so-called fish-bone system which is capable of reducing wind resistance to a minimum. There are about 60 luxury vehicles presented inside the building.
There are various cars, from modern luxury sports vehicles to the classics, such as a 1955 Morgan Plus 4. The good thing is that you do not need to go upstairs to look for a car you want, but you simply choose a vehicle from the ground floor, using a touchscreen display. After you have picked the car you like, it arrives within one to two minutes thanks to an advanced vehicle retrieval system.
This format of the building is an efficient use of space in crowded Singapore, plus, they immediately stand out from the rivals, according to ABM General Manager Gary Hong. He told Reuters: “We needed to meet our requirement of storing a lot of cars. At the same time, we wanted to be creative and innovative.” He also added that the developers want to use the company’s Automotive Inventory Management System for parking services.
However, ABM is not the only one who uses this kind of vending-machine towers to sell cars. The US company called Carvana opened an eight-floor building in San Antonio, Texas, and there you can find about 30 vehicles. They have four locations around the US, with the first car vending machine having been opened in late 2015. The customers can either have their cars delivered to their floor or drop a coin in the slot and take their new vehicle.
