Shawn Michaels is one of the most popular superstars of all time. He has had some of the best matches that this company has ever seen. His charisma, work in the ring and just overall great character is what made him so successful in the WWE. He had a big rivalry with the Undertaker, and the two of them had some of the most memorable duels ever at the grandest stage of them all. The Dead Man was the one that retired Shawn Michaels in the end.
He has been working in the WWE developmental center in the past couple of months and has had a big influence on some of the superstars down in Florida. In a recent interview, he noted that some of his favorite NXT superstars include Roderick Strong, the Revival, and Tye Dillinger. This guy also stated that he likes Elias Samson as he pointed out that he has something that stands out, something that makes him different.
The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels had two of the greatest matches of all time at Wrestlemania. Undertaker retired Michaels, but the Dead Man is still wrestling on a couple of occasions a year. Michaels talked about the longevity of the Dead Man.
“When Undertaker came in, it was the greatest gimmick ever, but how long could it last? That’s where he’s been such a genius. His success is so different from anybody else’s – he’s just tweaked little things here and there, sometimes big things, but he’s always made it into something new and he’s made a 25-year plus career out of it. Careers are a lot shorter these days, with the guys getting beaten up, but he’s still here.”
