Samsung Electronics Unveils 4 New Budget KitKat 4.4 Galaxy Smartphones

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) has made four new additions to its Galaxy range of smartphones namely Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Ace 4, and Galaxy Young 2, which will suit the budget of majority of buyers. The phones have been designed to target the section of customers that seeks to buy affordable mid-budget phones. The details on availability and pricing are still unknown.

Galaxy Ace 4 available in 3G and LTE

Samsung Tomorrow revealed that 3 of these are dual-SIM devices namely the Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, and Galaxy Young 2 and all run on the android KitKat 4.4 and on top have the company’s TouchWiz Essence UI. The only single-SIM device is Galaxy Ace 4 available in two variants – 3G and LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 has different set of specifications for the different variants. LTE one weighs 130.3 grams with the dimensions of 121.4×62.9x11mm and 3G one weighs 123.8 grams with dimensions of 121.4×62.9×10.8mm. The former has a 1GB RAM while the latter has 512 MB of RAM. The 1.2 GHz dual-core processor powers the LTE variant while 1GHz dual-core processor powers the 3G variant. The former has an 1800mAh battery and the latter 1500mAh battery. Both of these are 4 inch devices with VGA front camera and 5-megapixel rear camera.

Specifications of the device

The Samsung Galaxy Core II sports a 4.5 inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) TFT display. This device runs on a quad core processor, which is clocked at 1.2 GHz and has a RAM of 768 MB. Other relevant features include an inbuilt storage of 4GB and with the help of a microSD card it can be expanded by 64GB. It has a VGA front facing camera and 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. It has a 2000mAh battery. Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and 3G are the various connectivity options offered on the device. Galaxy Core was launched last year in June and this is its successor with dimensions 130.3x68x9.8mm and 138 grams of weight. Black and white is two available colors.

The Samsung Galaxy Young 2 has 512MB of RAM and runs on 1GHz single-core processor. It has a 3.5 inch screen and a rear camera of 3 megapixels with fixed focus. The device has an inbuilt storage of 4GB and with the help of a microSD card it can be expanded up to 32GB. The device comes in two attractive colors – Iris charcoal and White and packs a 1300mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Star 2 has a 320×480 pixels screen of 3.5 inch. The device comes with RAM of 512MB and runs on a single-core Spreadtrum SC6815A clocked at 1GHz.
