The Rock vs the Artillery: Dwayne Johnson Defying Military Weaponry

The popularity of The Fast And Furious franchise is through the roof. Everything that has anything to do with that franchise is popular. Unfortunately, the biggest increase was reported after the death of Paul Walker who played one of the main characters accompanied by his friend and actor Vin Diesel. This year’s buzz is created by a new movie called The Fate of the Furious. We’ve had only two trailers so far which isn’t necessarily bad because we have something to be hyped about until the movie hits theaters. However what we’ve gathered from these trailers is that there will be a lot of action packed with military equipment such as missiles and torpedoes.

That’s right, you heard us, new problems that the family will have to face are going to be brutal. In order to save Dom (Vin Diesel), they will have to fight enemies that will come with a plethora of weapons including a submarine, missiles, torpedoes and many more things from the domain of military arsenal.

As we have mentioned, there were torpedoes and submarines. We saw that in the first trailer. There is even a scene where the cars are chased by the submarine, and numerous missiles and torpedoes are being fired at them. Yes, just when we thought that we’ve seen it all director F. Gary Gray found a new way to amaze us. And that’s what we’ve expected, to be honest.

Fans of the franchise are in for action, not so much for the story, and it is only a bonus if the story is good. One of the main characters will be played by Charlize Theron, and she will gain control on almost all of the cars in New York City. However, we’ll have to see the movie and see how this will pan out on the big screen. All in all, we’ve had eight of these movies so far, and each and every one of them was packed with action, did anyone really think that this one was going to be an exception? No. And we like it that way.

We gathered intel that Theron’s character had had some issues and history with Dom, but it is quite unclear why he decided to leave the family. Maybe the reason lies right there, as we could see that in three previous movies Theron’s character and Dom crossed paths. But, we’ll just have to wait and see. Those encounters might be the reason. It will also be interesting to see the relationship between the two and the reason why she is so obsessed and fascinated by the family.

Last but not least, we’ve seen Dwayne The Rock Johnson in action. He was going against a torpedo, and we rooted for The Rock! I mean, seriously, you need to love this guy. However, it is left to be seen whether he’ll win against the torpedo. Chances are pretty small in for something like this to happen in real world, but hey, this is the Rock we are talking about here.

The cast of the movie will also feature stars such as Chris Bridges, Kurt Russel, Helen Mirren, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel and Jason Statham.

The Fate of the Furious will be in theaters starting on April 14, 2017.

We’ll leave you the official plot synopsis down below:

On the heels of 2015’s Furious 7, one of the fastest movies to reach $1 billion worldwide in box-office history and the sixth-biggest global title of all time, comes the newest chapter in one of the most popular and enduring motion-picture serials of all time: The Fate of the Furious.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains of the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family.
