Dwayne The Rock Johnson will play the role of primatologist in the movie adaptation of the video game from the 1980s called Rampage and his best friend will be an albino gorilla. The popular actor shares the updates via Instagram, and in the last photo he posted, we can see the albino gorilla George and Dwayne Johnson as a cake decoration.
The monster movies are returning big time, and recently, the studios have started buying the rights to video games from our past such as Battleship and Missile Command. So, it is no wonder at all that Rampage is on the list.
We are all well aware that there is no plot in the classic arcade game, so the movie is not going to be about a gorilla punching buildings for 90 minutes. The directors have freedom to come up with a great plot and here is the synopsis of the film:
“Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.”
Besides Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Rampage is going to star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Joe Manganiello, Malin Akerman, Naomie Harris and Jake Lacy. The premiere of the new movie should be on April 20th, 2018.
