Rafael Nadal, Former No1, is finishing season earlier due to persistant injury

Apparently, Rafael Nadal is calling it quits for this season because his persistent wrist injury is not letting him breathe this year. The Spanish 14-times Grand Slam champion stated that he is giving up on all the remaining tournaments so he could rest and allow his injury to heal as well to start “preparing intensively” for the 2017 season.

If you follow the world of tennis than you know that the Spanish former No 1, age 30, was forced to pull back from the French Open before he had a chance to participate in his third-round match. He also missed Wimbledon because of the same injury but if you recall he more than gladly responded for the Rio Olympics where he won a doubles gold medal with Marc López. Nadal stated that “It is no secret that I arrived to the Olympic Games short of preparation and not fully recovered, but the goal was to compete and win a medal for Spain”. Furthermore, he added: “This forced recovery has caused me pain since then and now I am forced to stop and start preparing the 2017 season”.

Nadal, who is currently sixth in the world with 4.380 points, was expected to make qualification for the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals, but I guess we won’t be seeing him there. If you ask me it is very well justified, better to treat the injury completely than risk it again and have the same problem next season. Why repeat the same mistake two times. Get well soon Rafa.

Miloš Kalajdžić
My name is Miloš Kalajdžić and I come from Brčko DC in Bosnia. I was born on July 20 th 1988 and so far I obtained a BSc in economics and one year of working experience in my field of study. I am a very hard-working person who leaves nothing unfinished and halfway done. When I commit to something I give my best to make sure that everything is done the way as it is supposed to be. I like cars and everything that comes with them. My passion are American muscle cars, but unfortunately the closest I managed to come near one is behind my laptop watching an image of the new Chevy or Dodge and writing about it. But that’s ok I’m still optimistic. When I’m not behind the laptop writing I’m on the streets and auto shows admiring all stuff rolling on four wheels being propelled by a petrol engine!
