Toyota revealed more details and specifications about the upgraded 2017 Toyota RAV4. The new car will have more safety and personalization options. Also, some of the equipment in the car will be updated and on a completely new level.

The most significant update is the installment of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) on automatic GX version of a car. However, this safety option is alternative.

However, the safety pack on the Cruiser will remain standard, whereas GXL will have optional one. Anyhow, the GX variant will have even more safety features in addition to the aforementioned. The driver will be able to get information from the 4.2-inch TFT display. Speaking of the engine it will remain the same as before. The future drivers can choose between 107kW 2.0-liter petrol for the base car, 2.4- liter petrol unit producing 177 horsepower and 110/kW 2.2-liter turbo diesel.

The 2.0-liter petrol engine will be inserted into GX model which will have a front-wheel drive. The manual will be either with six speeds or a CVT, whereas a six-speed automatic will follow the 2.5-liter petrol power plant and the models with this engine will have a four-wheel drive.
The Cruiser and GXL will not have the manual version, comparing to the 2.2-liter diesel version of the GX.
