What came clear to us just recently is that, although this is old news not many of you know, the Season 14 might be the last season of this popular show and that the History Channel might pull a plug on the stars of the World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. To the fan base of the show that was a real shocker and a big disappointment.
The 14th Season finished filming just a month or so before the launch date, and it ended on June 26th when the last episode was aired, and as things are it seems that it might be the last one. What is strange is that the Las Vegas Review-Journal, back when this was a hot topic, didn’t share any of the chatter between the stars of the show and the History Channel, which made everyone believe that this is one highly unusual thing and that it didn’t “smell” good. One more sign that pointed to what everyone was fearing was the post from respected columnist John Katsilometes who stated that the show is basically doing a limbo back then.
John did bring some good news as well, saying that the reality stars “especially” Rick Harrison and his son Corey are up to something else which is basically a non-Pawn Stars business. John stayed mute on the topic and did not release what “ventures outside the TV show” Corey and Rick have been up to, but he did say that Chumlee had a huge, SWEET announcement. As it seems Chumlee was preparing to open a candy store! Yes, you read right (if you didn’t know by now). The first hint about this came from Rick Harrison, and it came via the Inquisitr report, and sometime after that, it became official. Chumlee’s candy store is located at Pawn Plaza, which is just across the parking lot from the pawn shop where Pawn Stars has been filmed since 2009. It seems that Chumlee didn’t want to stray far from “home.”
The official name of the store is Chumlee’s Candy on the Boulevard, and it was opened on May 8th and Austin Lee Russell, aka Chumlee, is supposed to be working together with his 21-year-old brother Sage. This guy gave a statement back then saying “My brother and I wanted to do something fun, and candy is fun.” But to keep the fun to the “necessary only” level Rick will still be there in the role of Chum’s landlord since the candy shop is located right next door to Rick’s Rollin’ Smoke Barbecue and Tavern. This guy envisioned the shop to offer some of the old-time faves like Chum’s favorite bottle caps, as well as Taffy and chocolate bars. But that’s not all, Chumlee plans to have some “signature” Pawn Stars candy created exclusively for the store.
When Chum was asked about the possibility of the Pawn Stars show being canceled, he kept it pretty optimistic and hopeful that a Season 15 will happen. “We’re in down time now. It looks like we’ll be getting another season, but you never know how it’s going to go. Most likely we’d start taping again in September, if we do come back. But we need to see what History wants to do,” as stated by Chum.
