Patriots Win The Super Bowl In A Miraculous Comeback

Well, that game was pretty uneventful until the 10-minute mark in the fourth quarter. Patriots had a good scoring drive but ended up with only three points to start the final quarter in which they had to overcome a huge deficit. It was pretty much all over. Or so everybody thought. To be exact, everybody except the New England Patriots.

Atlanta was so good in the first half on both sides of the ball that it was almost unreal to watch what was happening. Then, it seems that their defense ran out of gas. They were on the field for 51 minutes while their offense had possession just during 26 minutes of this match. Brady knew how to exploit that in the final quarter of the game as he made a bunch of big plays, including two TD drives that both ended up with the 2-point conversion at the end.

Even though the Falcons were up 28:3 at the beginning of the second half, the Patriots never gave in and kept trying to execute their game plan. Two clutch TD drives were a thing of beauty for the Patriots as Brady was able to deliver the ball to a lot of different bodies. First, it was Julian Edelman than James White stepped up, Danny Amendola and Martellus Bennett showed up to play as well.

We went to OT tied at 28 a piece when New England Patriots won the coin toss and elected to keep the ball. When that happened, it was pretty clear that the Patriots were in the driver’s seat as their offense was on fire, Falcons defense was gassed, and the writing was on the wall. New England was moving the ball down the field, and the drive ended up with James White running the ball to the end zone. It was 34-28, and the game was over.

In the end, the Patriots have won their 5th Super Bowl in franchise history. Tom Brady was named the MVP and probably cemented his legacy as the best quarterback to ever play the game. He is now the only QB ever to win 5 Super Bowl rings, and it must feel pretty good. But, don’t think that this is the end for Tom. He will be back next year, ready to win it all yet again.
