To a great relief for numerous fans of the fantasy TV series Once Upon a Time, it was recently confirmed by ABC that the series would be renewed for a seventh season. Nonetheless, it seems that its seventh installation will be somewhat different from its predecessors.

Namely, Once Upon a Time is to be a part of ABC’s 2017-18 autumn schedule and it will contain 22 episodes. Moreover, its weekly schedule has also been altered from Sunday nights to a new time slot, which will be every Friday night for the next season.

According to Digital Spy, this sequel will be in some way a reboot of the fantasy series, especially because there will be only three of the nine series regular characters returning for the announced season.

 

Season 7 Cast

The only cast members coming back for Once Upon a Time Season 7 are Robert Carlyle as Mr. Gold or Rumplestiltskin, Colin O’Donoghue as Killian Jones or Captain Hook and Lana Parrilla as Regina Mills or the Evil Queen.

The six actors who will not be coming back for the seventh season are Ginnifer Goodwin as Mary Margaret Blanchard or Snow White, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Emilie de Ravin as Belle Gold or Belle, Josh Dallas as David Nolan or Prince Charming, Rebecca Mader as Zelena or the Wicked Witch of the West and Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills.

Although Morrison will not be there full-time, she will be appearing in the premiere episode of Once Upon a Time Season 7 in order to tie up her storyline. What’s more, Dallas and Godwin may also appear in at least one episode in their roles of Emma’s parents.

 

Once Upon A Time Season 7 Release date

When it comes to what we may expect from the seventh season, its showrunner, writer and co-creator posted on Instagram that they were already working on the storylines.

As far as its release date is concerned, it doesn’t have an official air date yet, but it is speculated to come out this fall.
