Norwegian Cruise Line started building their new cruiser of extraordinary luxury some time ago, but now by courtesy of USA Today, we have a first chance to take a sneak peek at what it really offers. The Norwegian Joy as it is called is a huge sea vessel built exclusively for the Chinese market. Even this ship is not yet completed it is very close to completion, and that is why Norwegian Cruise Line let us take a look at its offerings. This ship is planned to start sailing later this summer with starting points being Shanghai and Tianjin.

Norwegian Joy which can take in around 3,800 passengers was built in Germany by Meyer Werft. The German shipbuilder spent more than a year to complete this vessel. It will sail from Emshaven, Germany directly to China where it will then be christened in June.

Weighting approximately 168,800 tons this cruiser easily enters the list of ten biggest cruise ships ever built. It is the second largest in Norwegian Breakaway Blue series behind Norwegian Escape which started sailing in 2015 on Caribbean route from Miami.

As you can see on the photos bellow, this ship has an extensive range of lounges, restaurants, casinos and other on board and inboard spaces customized in order to satisfy Chinese customers. It also has a lot of shopping areas, and if you can believe, it has a karting race track. The last feature is a ‘first time thing’ on a cruise ship.

This is not the first time that a North American-based company is sending its cruisers to travel China and Asia in general. This company is joining Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruises which are sailing the Chinese seas for some time now. The reason for why they are turning to this side of the world is ever-expanding Asian market which now has a growing need for large cruise ships. These cruising companies recognized the high-profit rates and they are moving part of their business to this section of the world. Would you travel Chines shores aboard Norwegian Joy! Please, let us know in the comments.
