Nokia may announce six new devices in its Innovation Reinvented event to be held in Abu Dhabi next month on October 22nd. At least two new Lumias can be expected in the event, says The Verge, citing sources familiar with Nokia’s plan. The source also revealed that Nokia will unveil a host of new accessories with one being “pretty special.”

Lumia 1520, main attraction up till now

Up till now, a major focus of the upcoming event has been the expected launch of Nokia Lumia 1520, which is said to be 6 inches in display. Specifications of Lumia 1520 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, a Nano-SIM and a micro SD card slot. It will probably be equipped with 20 megapixel rear camera and a 6 inch full HD display.

As per a report from Reuters, Nokia planned the launch of 1520 at an event in New York in September. But the launch was postponed for October as Microsoft surprised everyone by acquiring Nokia’s handset business.

Nokia has been heavily promoting its upcoming event, which further airs the speculations that the handset maker may have some big surprises in store. Yesterday, the company tweeted three messages confirming the event and location, along with fuelling the excitement surrounding the event.

The first tweet reads, “At #Nokia, we believe in technology that brings people closer. Join us on October 22.”

The second read, “At #Nokia, we believe in technology that makes us more human. Feel it all on October 22”

The last tweet mentions, “At #Nokia, we believe in technology that grows in leaps and bounds. Discover more on October 22.”

Samsung to launch curved display smartphone

Samsung is also aggressively launching the products, and recently said that it will unveil a smartphone with curved display in October. Samsung wants to maintain its dominance in the smartphone category, which will prove a major challenge for Nokia.

Curved display is the primary stage of shifting or bendable designs of smartphone, which will bring major change in the way the smartphones are perceived at present. Curved Display can be found in the Televisions at present, with Samsung and LG Electronics being the first one to launch such TVs.
