No Android KitKat For HTC Corp (2498)’s X and One X+

Android KitKat

HTC Corp (TPE:2498) One X and One X+ users will be devoid of the latest Android Kitkat, and would use the current version of Android, said HTC. At present, both devices run on Android 4.2.2 and not the 4.3. Also, these phones would never be upgraded to Android Kitkat.

Disappointment for buyers and users

HTC One X was launched two years back, which justifies the move to some extent of not upgrading it on the higher version of Android, but HTC One X was launched in October 2012, and is far from completing two years, which is why the move from the Taiwanese phone maker comes as a surprise. The development could annoy the users and affect the buyers, as well.

HTC Corp (TPE:2498) is gearing up to unveil some new products in the coming years that can help the company to sale through the tough time. The upcoming HTC M8 is expected to be an extraordinary device.

HTC M8, a high end phone

HTC plans to release M8 smartphones this year, which is expected to give tight competition to Samsung and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). According to tipster @evleaks, the phone would be launched on all four networks by the end of 2014. There is no detail over the price of the phone yet, but it is expected to be a high end phone.

HTC M8 would apparently have a 5 inch screen while of the reports suggest that the display could be as big as 5.2 inches. According to Antutu Bench mark result, HTC M8 would have same full HD, 1920x 1080 resolutions. Processor is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 SoC and quad core chip with 2.26 GHz similar to LG G2.

It is widely rumoured that M8 would be equipped with Sense 6.0, which is expected to be similar  to Sense  5.5 enjoyed by the customers. Some users and experts will look for megapixels instead of Ultrapixels. The camera would be similar to 41mp Lumia 1020, and 20.7 MP Xperia Z1.

HTC Corp (TPE:2498) gained much popularity among the users, who go for looks, as the devices of HTC are stylish and steel body, which only Apple could offer. The leaked pictures indicate M8 to have a similar encasing as in HTC One and One X.
