The news of the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer that is being in the prep shook the online world very swiftly and made a lot of fans and owners of this iconic ride very happy knowing that the new-gen one will soon hit the streets. But unfortunately, as it is our job to bring you good news we also have to bring the bad ones as well. Apparently, as we found out from a few sources, the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer has been put on hold for the unknown reasons.

Automotive News have been informed by two Jeep sources about this, and as they say, it is apparent that the luxurious, three-row SUV may not come until the next decade. Well, thank God it is not all bad news, it is thankfully coming, it’s just the case where all of us will have to wait a little longer actually to see it.

But let’s talk about the possible reason for such decision. One of them is that the brand simply doesn’t have enough finances to develop this model at this point. As you probably know, Jeep’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, have started their big expansion with the whole bunch of new models, and some of them include the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. To add on that a new Ram 1500 pickup truck is being developed, the Jeep Wrangler updated and a Wrangler-based pickup is in the plans. The company gave itself a big task, and this is probably what is influencing their finances and making them lack for other projects.

One more thing that has impacted the financials of the company is the retooling of the brands Warren Truck Assembly Plant that is prepared for the new Grand Wagoneer. This retooling could be way too expensive, especially if Jeep wants to make something that will be able to compete with the likes of Range Rover, Bentley, and Mercedes-Benz.

One more thing emerged as a concern when the Grand Wagoneer is considered, and that is the question if the stretched version of the Grand Cherokee’s platform, as planned by FCA, is a good idea to use on the Grand Wagoneer. They are worried about maximizing interior space and comfort without sacrificing on and off-roading abilities with the said platform. All things considered, problems are vast, but we hope that Jeep will find the way around them because the Grand Wagoneer is a great idea and it will most likely make large repay to the company with good sale results.
