In the last couple of years, some car segments have radically changed in the USA. For example, the truck, crossover, and sport utility vehicle markets are growing fast. After all, manufacturers decided to bring back some of their most famous models – Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon are being reborn. Also, Ford will bring Ranger back to the production, and this is not the biggest news from the company.

The car will be made in Michigan factory, just like the Ranger, according to Ford Authority. It should be a body-on-frame SUV, and it will complete Ford’s lineup of crossovers and SUVs. While General Motors has a competing model to offer, Chevrolet does not. Yes, you’ve read it right, Chevrolet has nothing in the lineup that could go against Ford Bronco at this moment. One of their models 2018 Equinox is a compact crossover; rumors say there will be an all-new midsize crossover added to the stable and Blazer should be the name for it.

The Blazer might match Ford’s model in size, but there is no information about it being a body-on-frame SUV. It is likely that the new Chevy competitor will use the C1XX platform, which is also employed for 2017 Cadillac XT5 and 2017 GMC Acadia. Knowing all of the secret information, probably the best chance for a General Motors of North America to have a true SUV is with GMC. The 2017 Acadia is positioned in a midsize segment, and General Motors announced it will not leave the full-size market. It’s up to GM now; we hope the market itself and the consumers will be satisfied. On the other hand, Jeep Grand Cherokee is having great sale figures and GMC dealers are impatient for a vehicle that could reach these numbers.
