Narcos Season 3: News and Updates

It has been officially announced that the fans can look forward to seeing Season 3 and Season 4 of their favorite TV series on Netflix. After sequence of events that marked Season 2, the fans are soon going to see the sequel of Narcos. In the last 2 seasons we’ve been able to witness ups and down of Pablo Escobar only to have the series Season 2 finished with the death of the main character, as the storyline is based on the true story events.

So, what is to be expected then in the seasons to come?

Narcos Season 3 Trailer

“Cocaine cartels are about succession,” is what we can hear in the new trailer of the upcoming season.
“The day Pablo went down, the Cali cartel became public enemy number 1.”

Narcos and the season to come are going to present us the story which is in fact a reflection of the “biggest cocaine cartel in history… Cocaine Incorporated.”

If you are feeling skeptical about the next installment of Narcos, as Pablo Escobar is now dead, rest assure that it will retain the main backbone of the storyline, i.e. it will continue to follow the same theme covered in the previous two seasons – the world of narcotics.

Eric Newman has given his point of view related to this perilous world that is going to be further presented in the show:

“There’s a revolving-door aspect to narco kingpins and we’ll certainly exploit that. From the beginning when we decided to call the show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar, I had always had in mind to tell the continuing story of cocaine.”

In the next sequel, Narcos is going to have Pedro Pascal (also known for his role in Game of Thrones) who is going to take on a role of DEA agent Javier Peña. José Padilha (Elite Squad, RoboCop) and Eric Newman (Children of Men) will remain to be the executive producers of the show.

Netflix’s synopsis of Narcos Season 3

“In a post-Pablo Escobar world, those final words spoken in the last season of the Netflix original series Narcos foreshadow the upcoming season’s pivot into the corrupt, powerful and wildly profitable world of Colombia’s Cali Cartel — the biggest drug lords you’ve probably never heard of. Now that the bloody hunt for Pablo Escobar has ended, the DEA turns its attention to the richest drug trafficking organization in the world: the Cali Cartel. Led by four powerful godfathers, this cartel operates much differently than Escobar’s, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines.”

The next season is due to come out on Netflix on September 1, 2017.
