Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou (Everyday Life with Monster Girls) is just another anime adaptation out of many, and this one is based on the Japanese sci-fi fantasy manga which was written and illustrated by Okayado. The show debuted on July 7, 2015, on AT-X, but later on, the series could have been seen on Tokyo MX and other Japanese TV channels.

The first season consisted of 12 episodes, and each chapter lasted for about 25 minutes, whereas for Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for the United States broadcast through Crunchyroll. At the moment, this manga has only 12 volumes, with the last one appearing on April 13 in Japan. Finding an anime TV series with only one season is always difficult because the creators of these shows always want to explore the story further, make it more interesting and go more in-depth, so, with that being said, we expect to see the new season of the Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou very soon.

There were indications at the end of the last episode of season one that this show would continue sometime in the future, and the fans could have realized that. At exactly 16:20 the secret message appears, but it is really hard to spot. It says “NIKI KETTEI” which means that the season 2 is confirmed, but before you start with the celebrations, we have to tell you that there is an “if” above that writing. Certainly, this means that sequel may come or may not come, but the Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou creator gave us food for thought. Below, you can actually see the zoomed-in message.

Plot Overview

The story is set in Japan, where a number of monsters live. These are not just regular monsters, they are actually half human and half animal, while they are known as “liminals.” To make the story more interesting, these creatures that have been living with the regular people are known to the Japanese government who have kept it secret. After several years, the existence of these liminals is confirmed, and the government signed them into law for cultural exchange between humans and these species.

The newly-signed law allows liminals to remain in Japan and live together with humans, but they are required to learn the culture and the language. Moreover, each “monster” who accepts to take part in this exchange program is obliged to have a master who is going to be responsible for his guest. If the liminals don’t abide by these rules, they are going to be deported from the country, but the law agreement also forbids any kind of physical relationship between the two species and any kind of attack.

The story follows Kimihito Kurusu, who participates in this culture exchange program, but the coordinator of the program delivers Miia to his door by mistake, and they start their life together. Miia is a female liminal who has a half human and half snake body, and even though she is familiar with the restrictions, she tries to seduce Himihito. Some other female liminals also settle in his house, and at that time, the government decided to allow them having a relationship for experimental purposes, and Kurusu even marries one of the liminals.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou Release Date

Although the Everyday Life with Monster Girls Season 1 ended on September 22, 2015, the creators have been quiet about the release date of season 2. Considering that the manga is still ongoing, there is a possibility that a lack of content is the reason why we are waiting for the sequel to be delivered for so long. This must be it because the Monster Musume is very popular around the world, plus it received good reviews and attracted large audiences. We expect the upcoming season in fall 2017 or early 2018, but stay tuned for more details.
