Mitsubishi has officially presented the brand-new Xpander at the Indonesia International Auto Show held in Jakarta. The new Xpander comes with a bold and aggressive design that will definitely draw a lot of attention. It combines an MPV’s practicality with an SUV’s ruggedness and off-road features. As for the styling, the new model comes with a Dynamic Shield front fascia with the LED daytime running lights mounted high up, and the odd-looking vertical headlights.

The unconventional design continues back at the rear end where you can find flared wheel arches and distinctive character lines. The roof slopes gently, while the model is also equipped with L-shaped LED taillights and a spoiler mounted on the tailgate.

Inside, the Mitsubishi added a three-spoke steering wheel, metallic accents, and details of wooden trim, which make the car look upscale. There are three rows of seats enough for seven passengers and plenty of space in the cabin with numerous storage compartments which include 16 cup holders. Mitsubishi refused to reveal specific details, but the new Xpander will come with a digital multi-information display in the instrument cluster and an infotainment system with the internet and Bluetooth connectivity.

Under the hood, Mitsubishi installed a 1.5-liter petrol engine which delivers 105 PS. The customers can choose either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic, but whatever they opt for, the Xpander comes solely with a front-wheel drive configuration.

The new Mitsubishi Xpander is expected to go on sale in Indonesia this fall, and it will carry a price tag of 189,050,000 rupiah which converts to $14,152. After Indonesia, the Xpander will be offered in other ASEAN markets at the beginning of the next year.
