As soon as just a couple of games pass by in the NBA season, people were already talking about who is going to win the MVP award and which guys are the favorites to take it. This season was no exception as we have two prime-time candidates for this year’s award as well. There are a few more guys that could enter that conversation, but two players are leading the way. Let’s take a look at all the candidates.

Isaiah ThomasBoston Celtics – We just can’t ignore this man. He is averaging over 28 PPG for a Celtics team that is sitting at the third spot in the East. If this team can somehow go on a big winning streak and win around 55 games this season, Isaiah will be in the conversation.

LeBron JamesCleveland Cavaliers – This guy is always and will always be in the conversation. Cleveland Cavaliers are just not the same team with LeBron James on the floor, and he is proving his worth every time he steps in the battle.

Russell WestbrookOklahoma City Thunder – Mister Triple Double is having himself a great season. He is posting monster numbers and is a nightmare for every defense. Still, his squad needs to win more duels in order for him to win the MVP title.

WINNER: James HardenHouston Rockets – Harden is posting similar number to Westbrook’s, but his crew is having a much better season. Harden makes that team better when he is on the floor as he is the key guy in Mike D’Antoni’s system making it all possible for the Houston Rockets in their winning-rich year is going to earn him an MVP award at mid-season.
