A new partnership is expected between Ping Identity and Microsoft which will make it possible for customers of Azure Active Directory (AD) to expand their cloud-based identity as well as have access to management platforms in the environment of web application.

Termed Dubbed PingAccess, the Azure AD will make use of the AD’s technology Application Proxy and also the identity-based access control platform of PingAccess to pave way for a cloud-based, secure remote access with one sign-on capabilities to get work with applications of legacy web. The AD proxy has some functionality that is similar to applications that are standard-based for hosting of businesses locally. However, the new integrations expands to applications that are non-standards, which only make use of access management or authentication that is header-based so as to govern access.

Founder and CEO of Ping Identity, Andre Durand, said the partnership will bring the leaders in Identity to carry out transformation in enterprise digital with focus on connecting it with users be it on web, mobile, IoT apps, or on-prem. Durand added that with Ping, Microsoft AD users will be given a unique way to change and mix up things from the control panel with the web single sign-on and doing so directly.

Product marketing general manager at Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security, Andrew Conway, said that the new solution will provide answers to the many questions that have been plaguing people. Many organisations were still resorting to legacy apps that users are not allowed to bring to the cloud control point even with AD providing a secure sign-on single for over 3, 000 software-as-a-service app that is more suitable for cloud applications.

The coming together og Azure AD and PingAccess will not just make the platform broader in terms of on-premises web apps spectrum, but also will enable organisations to have a better secured application. Conway also pointed out that since we are in the age where app environments are blended, that is, cloud and traditional, approaches that have been existing such as “firewalls, inspection of network that on-premises traffic, VPNs are unfortunately not serving alone.

AD’s capabilities that are built in can give the user all web apps with a piece of mind in terms of protection such that is gotten with Microsoft’s enterprise software for cloud. There are many benefits to be gotten from the learning based unique machine identity protection as well as advanced conditional risk-based capabilities access of AD when using web applications like SaaS and on-premises app.

According to program management director at Microsoft’s Identity Division, Alex Simons, and the users’ security will be guaranteed while making use of the apps regardless of which device and location.

In the early part of 2017, the AD and PingAccess preview will commence. For now, it is in private beta stage and available for a select few. When made public, AD premium users will have licenses (20 apps) when they subscribe. The companies have promised to make the process simple and smooth for their users.
