Just as an artificial beauty contest was being regarded as a waste of time, the contest became offensive after it took matters into its own hands like in 1936 in Berlin.

Microsoft MIT and Nvidia were the brains behind Beauty.ai contest for reasons best known to them. It seemed to be of no importance as they would have fallen under the catalogue of “science” had it been that they are made for the future.

The promise the progressive made is that perception was all that matters in beauty. They further added that it is how you are perceives, which in most cases does not go without bias. They were also of the opinion that people that are healthy always seem to be more attractive regardless of their nationality or age.

It was because of this that the data scientists and team of biogerontologists – Youth Laboratories to embark on developing algorithms in set so that the most important part of the human body, the face, will be used to evaluate human beauty accurately.

They are of the belief that in no distant time, machines will be equipped to process peoples’ photos to get their medical information when it comes to health.

The blurb also noted that evaluating health and beauty is not all that matters. They said their main objective is to slow peoples aging to make them look beautiful and healthy at same time.

According to them, no one should smile or be exposed to stress by venturing outside. This will work well for those that are at home with robots assessing them for the skin type and wrinkles.

For those that keep beards or put on glasses whether for medical reasons, access will not be granted to them by these robots. The aim is to make sure that Steve Wozniak or Bill Gates does not make it to the competition.

Interestingly, thousands of people in their numbers did come forward. At the end of it all, a five-machine panel of robots that are no better crowned while people as the most beautiful.

The aim of the robots named RYNKLY, are to judge ‘wrinkleness’. The ones named PIMPL were to judge pigmentation and pimples. MADIS were the ones that judge the similarity to models according to their racial group. For the face symmetry, the robots were called Symmetry Master. For the ones that could tell the real age as perceived, they were called AntiAgeist.

After detecting the depressing and dystopian result from the pageant, Vice Magazine made some comments that are defensive about it.

According to Youth Laboratories chief technology, Konstantin Kiselev, while being interviewed by Vice’s Motherboard said that they encountered challenges with the wrinkle estimation database.

He said that because the majority of the people in their database were white people much more than, for example, Indian people, there were possibilities that their algorithm must have been biased.

Someone else also said there is a possibility that the pageant was not properly advertised to make sure that there is even representation of all skin types.
