Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is rolling out its simplified email format called Send to Android users. The app initially launched on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iOS platform. Microsoft has confirmed that it is developing Send flavor for Windows Phone.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) continues with its strategy of rendering its productivity tools on rival platforms. After initially launching Send for iOS users, the app has been introduced on Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Android platform.

Simplified messaging

Send offers a simplified way to send and receive emails. The app has been integrated with Office 365 business and Outlook.

Microsoft’s Send app is designed in a manner that it works like normal email but using it feels like texting. The most notable thing with Send is that it avoids conventional email constructions that often time slow down communication. As such, Microsoft is presenting Send as the ultimate answer to those interested in communicating urgent messages but with an email flavor.

Suitable use cases

According to Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Send has been well-received by organizations, office workers and organizations. Its main selling point is improved communication flow suitable for campus settings and work places.

Using Send, you can also send standard quick reply messages such as “I’ll get back to you” or “On my way.” The inclusion of quick reply features on Send further enable speeded up communication.

Starting a communication in Send is simple. You begin by selecting a contact and then you proceed to create your message. After that you simply hit send, and it’s done. If you are communicating with another Send user, you will be able to see when they are replying to your message just the same way other instant message services work.

Supported Android versions

For Android, Send is available on Android 4.2 or newer versions. The app will initially be available for Android users in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, the U.K. and Demark.

The Send app for Windows Phone is in the works, but Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) hasn’t confirmed when it might arrive.
