After four mostly successful seasons (there were more than 30,000 people interested in participating in the last season), the reality TV series “Married at First Sight” was renewed for the fifth season in October last year. The new episodes will feature three couples in Chicago. We still don’t have all the details, but take a look at what we have found about you favorite reality show so far.
Before we proceed to the latest news, let us provide a brief explanation for those readers who may not be familiar with the series. Namely, as the title itself suggests, the show follows the attempt of a team of relationship experts to match those people who have failed to find their soul mates. The participants meet for the first time right before their wedding ceremony, and after that, they have some time to decide whether they want to stay married or get divorced.
Now, when it comes to the fifth season, it has been reported that the renowned sociologist and professor at the University of Washington, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, will participate in the new episodes. Schwartz is a real expert in the field, as she has written numerous books on love, relationship, marriage and similar subjects. The rest of the team will include Calvin Roberson, pastor and marriage counselor, and Rachel DeAlto, a communication and relationship expert.
In addition to Season 5, the series will also receive a spin-off series which will be titled “Married at First Sight: Second Chance.” It will focus on a couple from previous seasons, Vanessa Nelson and David Norton. The two of them claim to be “hopeless romantics,” or at least that’s what we can conclude based on a half-minute teaser of the spin-off. However, for some reason, they did not find their happiness last time, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything will work out well this time.
