Arizona Cardinals Wide Reciever signed a one-year extension with the team just a couple of weeks ago, but everyone expected that he is taking it one year at the time and that he will play next season too.

But right now that doesn’t look to be the case.

According to very well known Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Insider, Fitzgerald is going to hang up the cleats at the end of 2016 campaign. People close to Larry told him that this is it for Fitzgerald and that he is looking to end his career after the season.

Even though the last couple of seasons weren’t the best for Cardinals’ Wide Out, he did bounce back last season with 109 receptions for 1,215 yards. He showed why he was one of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL. Last year he ended up with more than 100 receptions was 2007, and it would be a real shame if he would retire now.

Arizona was in the NFC Championship game, but they got smashed by the Panthers. They were one of the favorites last season and they are one of the top NFL’ teams this season too.

It would be a fairytale ending if Fitz and company win Super Bowl LI and let Larry ride into the sunset with NFL ring. Who knows, he might change his mind, but as of right now, this season will be Fitzgerald’s goodbye tour.
