Dwayne The Rock Johnson will appear in the Jungle Cruise, and he wants the director of the Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins, to help him out with the project. One of the most famous Hollywood actors bound himself to the project in 2015, and the studio will finally start to shoot in spring next year.

The movie is inspired by the ride of the same name at Disney’s theme parks, and Johnson cannot wait to start working on the film. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Jenkins is the first option for the director. Dwayne said: “Patty has that really cool edge … I felt like she could be a really cool choice for a movie like ‘Jungle Cruise.’ Plus, you know what? I’m just a big fan.”

Some of the Jenkins’ previous movies were the drama from 2003 called Monster in which Charlize Theron played the serial killer Aileen Wuornos, and because of this role, she earned a Best Actress Oscar. We have already mentioned Wonder Woman in which Gal Gadot plays the superhero and is bound to be shown in theaters in about a month.

We have been waiting so long for Jungle Cruise to arrive because there have been so many rewrites from the original script written by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. Meanwhile, Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne are working on the most recent draft.

The movie is going to be based on Disney’s theme park attractions, and this is not the first as we could see Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp and The Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy. We also need to mention the less successful Tomorrowland with Gorge Clooney playing the role of Frank Walker, as it shares its name with the themed area at Magic Kingdom parks.

Dwayne Johnson will play the main role, but this is the only familiar detail thus far. Follow us for more information.
