Johnny Depp will star at the remake of “Murder on the Orient Express”

In the latest Fox production – the remake of “Murder on the Orient Express” Johnny Depp is supposed to star together with the bunch of other high profile stars.

If you are a fan of Agatha Christie, then you are probably familiar with one of her best-known novels “Murder on the Orient Express.” It was first published in 1934, and the plot of the book starts when an American businessman gets killed on the train mentioned above. Hercule Poirot steps in with all his fame to try to unravel the mystery and find out who killed the businessman.

Apparently, Michael Green (Blade Runner 2 scribe) adapted this script from Agatha Christie’s novel and together with director Kenneth Branagh is going to revive it again with the help of the extraordinary crew. After Angelina Jolie stepped out, we have received confirmation that Johnny Depp will star in this movie. Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Michael Pena and Judi Dench are about to join this remake as supporting roles; this comes as the latest update from Fox. Everything will be overseen by Steve Asbell from Fox.

Production of this remake will be at the highest level and with a lot of experience in it. Besides the above mentioned Kenneth Branagh that will be aided by Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, and Mark Gordon, we will see the author’s great-grandson James Prichard and chairman of Agatha Christie Ltd., and Hilary Strong, CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd., as executive producers.

Now for some scoop on the roles, where apparently “Branagh, a five-time Academy Award®-nominee, will star as detective Hercule Poirot. Depp will portray Ratchett; Pfeiffer is Mrs. Hubbard, and Ridley plays Mary Debenham. Oscar winner Judi Dench portrays Princess Dragomiroff, while Lucy Boynton is Countess Andrenyi. Tom Bateman plays Bouc, acclaimed stage actor and Tony winner Derek Jacobi portrays Masterman, Michael Peņa is Marquez, and Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. plays Doctor Arbuthnot. The ensemble is nearly complete, but there are still a few key roles left to cast”. All of this was announced today by TCF president Emma Watts with the addition that “Murder on the Orient Express” begins production in November, in London. Can’t wait!
