John Cena Reacts To Wrestlemania 33 Rumors

No matter how many guys have come and gone after Cena made his rise to the top of the WWE, only on rare occasions someone was able to challenge him for that spot. CM Punk is one of those people, but he is not with the company anymore. Daniel Bryan is another one on the list that has been able to jeopardize Cena’s reign and to compete for the top, but as you know, the doctors can’t clear him to wrestle.

With that being said, Cena is still the top guy in the company, and it’s always important what a man like him is going to do on the grandest stage of them all. Wrestlemania 33 is just around the corner, and John Cena will be wrestling this year after missing last year’s show because of an injury. He did appear, but in a segment with The Rock, not in the actual match.

While speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, John Cena discussed the rumors of him teaming up with Nikki Bella to take on the team of The Miz and Maryse at this year’s Wrestlemania 33 event. One of the WWE legends noted that he does not decide who is he going to face at Mania, pointing to last year’s event when he did not have a match as a prime example.

“I know people have a perception of who I am. There is nothing I can say in this interview that changes that perception, but I’ll say this: I don’t pitch ideas, don’t go and say, ‘This is what I would like to do.’ I’ve had tremendous success in being a versatile poker player if that is a good analogy. I get my hand told to me and I play it the best I possibly can.”

Cena also added that whatever he does at this year’s Mania, he will do it to the best of his abilities, just like it was the case last year even though he wasn’t fully recovered from his shoulder injury.
