Jeep Yuntu Concept Looks Hot, But It Is Still Only A Sketch

The Shanghai-bound concept, which is believed to be called Yuntu has been teased for several weeks now, and there are first official sketches of the new Jeep’s car. The Yuntu will be the three-row SUV and this concept sports a futuristic design and ruggedness of a classic SUV.

The windshield is raked, whereas the Jeep’s seven-slot front grille is sided by narrow LED headlights. We can also see two tow hooks at the front end together with an aluminum underbody protection. The familiar square wheel arches are used, and they come with plastic body cladding that can also be seen on the skirts. Fancy mirror lights and door handles are only a concept material, and even though it is still early, they will definitely not reach production.

However, the handles are joined in the middle, which might imply that the new Jeep Yuntu Concept can come with the suicide doors. Two-tone alloy wheels are hard to avoid, and they are wrapped in a set of off-road tires, while the pair of black rails is attached to the flat roof. On the side, the “PHEV” writing is noticeable, so it is pretty obvious that the concept will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it is too early to talk about it and we will have to wait for more details.

The rear segment of the SUV concept features thin taillight clusters and the window which flows over to the sides of the vehicle. Also, the aluminum underbody protection is placed between the aluminum exhaust tips, while the Yuntu seems to have a vertically split tailgate, indicated by a thin line across the middle.

It appears that Jeep actually plans to take the Yuntu Concept to the production stage, but we should know more about it as more info will be delivered on next Wednesday at Auto Shanghai 2017.
