How Serious is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) About Web TV

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ;AAPL) has been toying with the idea of an exclusive Television business for some time now. On and off rumors abound for some time now. However, the days are appear to be nearer now as the company talks with Television programmers for profitable deals.

The key is to start a service which is top-ranking quality and unique for Pay-TV market segment. The aim of Apple currently is to develop Dish type of sales with its Sling TV product, comment experts. Similarly Sony’s launch too is the goal which Apple Inc hopes to achieve.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ;AAPL) is expected to offer multiple packages of programs, however, it will be different and perhaps not go the whole haul and limit itself in the offers it can provide. The line-up is to sell to consumers directly as well as the Web. Apple Inc. is expected to rewrite the history of Television, with specially built program and experience. The interface as well as user experience is expected to be different however.

Apple Inc, has already started out with demos of the programs it wants its programmers to build. But the current stage of talks with respect to prices and timing is very early, interpret experts. Apart from them, another set of programmers are yet to be involved in discussions, they claim. However, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ;AAPL) is yet to confirm any of these discussions.

Apple’s long history to enter the TV business began in 2009, and included a $30 paid TV services. However, since then the company has followed erratic strategies and has been inconsistent with implementing them. This includes its latest forays with content producers for Pay-TV, such as Time Warner Cable, for both hardware as well as software products and services.

However, the latest development by Apple Inc, which includes discussions with programmers, appears to be a big step towards serious TV business entry.
