Groupon (GRPN) Hires Four New Executives

Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN) hired four new executives to help its CEO Eric Lefkofsky to lead the company towards growth and profitability.

The four new executive joining the daily deals company include Robbie Schwietzer, vice president of operations, Lisa Kennedy, vice president & general manager of Groupon Reserve, David Kerr, vice president & general manager of Home Services, and Hoke Horne, vice president of Global Commercial Finance.

In a statement, Leftkofsky said, “We’re thrilled to bring Robbie, Lisa, David and Hoke and their incredible caliber of talent to Groupon. All four are well-regarded experts in their fields and will help take Groupon to the next level.”

According to Groupon, Schwietzer will be responsible in the implementing, supervising, and improving the different operations of the company. He will report to Groupon’s COO, Kal Raman.

Prior to joining the daily deals company, he served as vice president of Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime. He also became director of International Retail, director of Videogames and Software, Germany, and senior finance manager during his ten years tenure at the e-commerce giant. He also worked as an associate consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Kennedy will head the Team of Groupon Reserve, which offers premium deals from leading brands and services. She will also oversee the merchandising efforts of the company. According Groupon, Kenney is a proven entrepreneur with a broad experience in the e-commerce industry. She founded Hopscotch, a daily deal site offering discounts on leading baby and children’s brands in India.

She served as executive vice president of Quidsi, an e-commerce that operates Diapers.com, Soap.com and BeautyBar.com before establishing Hosscotch. Prior to that she held senior executive positions at Scholastic, Time Inc. and the Guinness Book of World Records.

Kerr will lead Groupon’s outreach to home and auto related merchants and create a marketplace experience that allows customers to find, schedule and purchase deals from local service providers. Before joining Groupon, he served as general manager at Angie’s List (NASDAQ:ANGI). Prior to that, he became president and CEO of NoInk Communications. He also served as chairman of the board of Jada Beauty.

Meanwhile, Horne will lead the Global Finance team of Groupon and help maneuver the financial operations of the company’s businesses worldwide. He was a former vice president of Software Finance and vice president of Pricing at Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR). Prior to that, he worked at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) as chief financial officer of Windows Client, general manager of Pricing and Product Licensing and chief of staff to the CFO of the software giant. Horne will report to Jason Child, CFO of Groupon.
